Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisite: Admission to a graduate program within the College of Education or admission to a graduate program outside of the College of Education and permission of the instructor. This course focuses on theories of learning derived from philosophy, psychology, cognitive neuroscience, and educational research to inform the relationship of school curricula, pedagogy/instruction, and assessment practices. Students explore facets of instructional leadership as they intersect with curriculum, instruction, and assessment, and how students will be expected to enact instructional leadership in concert with models for teacher and principal assessment and evaluation.
