Long Description (Catalog Description)

Prerequisite: MATH 30224 or equivalent, and competence in a high-level programming language. Vector spaces and bases, linear transformations and operators, eigenvalues and eigenvectors, Jordan canonical form of a matrix, inner products and spectral theorem, Hermitian and unitary operators. Additional topics may include selections from numerical linear algebra, Fourier series, applications to differential equations, discrete dynamical systems, and Markov processes.
